Look out for my article in the New Statesman - 'Remembering Vicky, The Queen Britain Never Had' (http://www.newstatesman.com/ideas/2013/07/remembering-vicky-queen-britain-never-had). Vicky, the eldest daughter of Queen Victoria, was the last princess to be overlooked in favour of a younger brother due to primogeniture. What kind of queen would she have made if the change to the royal succession had been made in time for her birth more than 170 years ago?
